One of my first memories is of the logo for a Dodge Duster and walking my pet bunnies.
Don’t laugh.
If you knew the joy of walking a bunny on a leash when you were two, you’d remember it fondly too.
More on the Dodge Duster logo later. Maybe.
I grew up in a small town in the Northern Panhandle: Follansbee, West Virginia.
I spent most of my years before 10 in a restaurant owned and operated by my grandmother.
That’s right. Evelyn was a small business owner, in the 1970s and 1980s. That business provided a living for my mother, my aunt, my great aunt and my grandfather and grandmother.
She was tough.
And, I didn’t realize until late in her life what an influence Mitchell’s Restaurant was on the way I looked at the world.
What a blessing to have grown up there.
